Kwara Fire Service Saves Ilorin Car Spare Parts Market From Inferno

Kwara State Fire Service on Wednesday averted a fire incident from destroying Ipata Oloje Spare Parts Market in Ilorin.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Hassan Adekunle,  Head of Department, Media and Publicity,  Kwara State Fire Service and made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday.

“On Boxing Day, December 26, 2023, at approximately 18:54 hours, the Kwara State Fire Service promptly responded to a fire incident at Ipata Oloje, Oloje, Ilorin.

“The Firemen swiftly left the station and skillfully mitigated the ongoing destruction, successfully bringing the fire under control within an hour. Their prompt action played a crucial role in saving the major car spare parts market from the inferno.

“Upon investigation, it was revealed that an unidentified individual had intentionally set refuse on fire, leading to the rapid spread to nearby cars, ” he said.

The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, took the opportunity to remind the general public of the importance of safety awareness.

He extended heartfelt Christmas greetings and wished all Kwarans a prosperous New Year in advance.
