Cleric Urges Christians to Serve Jesus Christ Beyond Christmas Sentiment

 

Rev. Segun Abejide of Kingsvine Assembly, Ilorin has advised christians in the country to serve Jesus Christ beyond Christmas sentiment and celebration.

Abejide, gave the advice during the Maiden Christmas Carol Concert held at the Kwara Deputy Governor’s premises in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The cleric warned christians to serve Christ wholeheartedly, adding that religious doesn’t move christ.

He said dancing, singing in carol is not enough to convince God, but to serve him and allow Christ to run the affairs of their life.

Abejide said there will be storms, tribulations and challenges of life,but only God Almighty can help overcome all challenges.

He advised christians not to rely on their position, influence and connections to overcome every challenges,rather to look unto Christ the savior.

” Put the government of your life in the hand of Almighty God and you will win every battle and overcome every challenges.

” Christians must now learn to grow beyond the sentiment of Christmas celebration, and serve God Almighty whole heartedlly.

” You can dance ,sing and celebrate till tomorrow but that doesn’t move God. Do what is expected of you as a christian and you will become a conquer,” he said.

The Kwara Deputy Governor,Mr Kayode Alabi during his goodwill message described the maiden Christmas carol as ‘special’.

” This is the first carol during my tenure as the Deputy Governor of the state in this premises,” he said .

He urged christians in the state to unite and support the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in the state.

He also called on christians to show love to everyone around them irrespective of their tribe , age or religion.

He wishes the people of Kwara a happy Christmas and New Year celebration in advance.

For her path, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mrs Modupe Joel expressed her appreciation to the Deputy Governor and his PPS, Mr Ayantola Malomo for their support.

She also appreciated the Christian Fellowship Deputy Governor’s Office for organizing the carol and assured me that next year will be better.

The carol features choir ministrations from different churches in the state and drama presentations.

The choirs that minister in the maiden carol were; Potter’s Porch Choir, Cyon Choir, Harmony Brass Brand, The Host Choir and ECWA Choir Ita- Isha among others.

Personalities present at the occasion were; Kwara Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, Special Adviser to Gov AbdulRasaq on Religious Affairs, Timothy Agbagbe, Hon.Gbemisola Oguntimeyin, Member Kwara House of Assembly, The PPS to the Deputy governor, Mr Ayantola Malomo.

Others present are; Kwara APC Chairman and his wife, Mr&Mrs Sunday Fagbemi, and Chief Dele Alabi.

The theme for this year’s Maiden Christmas Carol Concert was: The Mighty God.
