Vice President Kashim Shettima To Deliver Al-Hikmah Varsity Convocation Lecture on Friday

 

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima is expected to inaugurate some projects and deliver the 13th convocation lecture of the Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, on Friday, December 8, 2023.

 

The Vice-chancellor,  Al-Hikmah University, Prof Noah Yusuf, made this known on Monday at the 13th convocation press briefing held at the institution’s Adeta campus.

 

According to him, some of the completed projects are scheduled for commissioning on Friday, 8th December, 2023 by His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

“The projects are Sen. Kashim Shettima Faculty of Nursing Science Block at Adeta campus and the Faculty of Law Moot Court at the Atere campus.

 

“The Vice President is also expected to deliver the 13th Convocation Lecture by 10.00a.m at the Faculty of Law Moot Court, Atere Campus permanent campus in Ilorin.”

 

The Vice-chancellor listed some of the achievements recorded in the last one year to include upgrade and total transformation of the campus environment.

 

According to him, there was notable rise in enrolment across all Faculties in the current academic session and with the successful take-off of the Centre for Peace and Security Studies.

 

“We enjoyed Improved and sustained students enrolment since my assumption of office. For the first time in recent years, the University recorded the higher number of admitted regular and part-time and professional programmes (1,287 in 2021 and 1,450 in 2022 and 2,450 in 2023).

 

 

“Our graduates will not a liability to the nation’s economy but employer of labours because they have acquired relevant skills that will make them self-employed and employer labours.

 

“Our focus had been on entrepreneurship education through the newly branded Abdulraheem Oladimeji Centre for Entrepreneurial and Vocational Studies (AOCEVS), ” he added.

 

Prof Yusuf said that the university has resuscitated the alumni association and secured an office for the association within the campus to operate as stakeholders in the development of the institution.
