Kwara State Fire Service Recovers Body From Domestic Well in Ilorin (Photos)

Kwara State Fire Service on Monday recovered a body of about 7 years old from a domestic well in Tinu Street, Akerebiata area Ilorin, Ilorin East Local Government Area.

This is contained in a statement signed by Hassan Adekunle,  the Head of Department, Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service,  Ilorin and made available to Choicereporters.

“Today, Monday 6th November 2023, a Boy of about 7 years old called Abdull-Haayi of Yaa-Lateef House, Tinu Street Akerebiata area Ilorin, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, fell into a domestic well and recovered died.

“Tinu Street Akerebiata area Ilorin, Ilorin East Local GovernmentThe terrible incident occurred this evening at about 17:28hrs (05:28 PM) and the Brigade was Summoned through an exchange Telephone call by One Mr Idowu Living in that neighbourhood, ” he said.

However, Firemen were able to recover the dead body from the well and later handed it over to one Mr Yussuf, a family member of the deceased.

According to the report, the victim boy went to fetch water at the well and during the process of fetching one of his legs suddenly slipped off the ground and eventually tumbled down into the well.

Therefore, The Director, of Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed his Sadness over the incident and urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities and that they should desist from sending under Age children to fetch water in domestic well.
