Gov. Mohammed Tells Corps Members To Seek Ways To Support Less Privileged

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has called on all the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed across the country to seek ways in supporting the less privileged.
Mohammed made the call on Tuesday, during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch B stream 1 orientation course for corps members posted to the state at the state’s permanent orientation camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
The governor, who said that the move would further complement the efforts of government at all levels to make the country a better place to live for all, also called on them to seek ways to address social economic issues and promote education.
Represented by his Deputy, Mr Auwal Jatau, Mohammed said “As you serve, keep in mind that the challenges facing our nation are considerable, but they are not insurmountable.
“I implore you to be agents of change and innovation. Seek ways to address social and economic issues, promote education, and support the less privileged.
“Be proactive in addressing environmental challenges and contribute to the overall development of your host communities”.
He also reiterated that the well-being of the corps members in the state is of utmost importance, adding that measures had been put in place to ensure that they are protected throughout their stay.
He, however, urged them to always adhere to all safety guidelines and cooperate with security agencies to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the NYSC management team, camp officials, and all the individuals and organizations that have supported this orientation course.
“Your dedication and tireless efforts have contributed to the success of this programme,” he said.
Earlier, the state Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, commended the corps members for their patriotic zeal as demonstrated by their participation in camp activities and exhibition of a high level of discipline.
She advised them to strive hard, to meet the expectations of the people of the state by contributing towards the progress and development of their various host communities.
