NSCDC Kwara Command Arrests Six Suspects For Alleged Railway Slippers Vandalism 

 

 

The personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), kwara state Command, have arrested six (6) suspects with two 14 tyres trucks fully loaded with Railway Slippers at Oloru, Moro Local Government Area, Kwara state at about 12a.m on 5th July 2023.

 

This is contained in a statement signed by SC Ayeni Olasunkanmi, the Public Relations Officer of the Command in Ilorin on Wednesday.

 

The state Commandant, Umar J G Mohammed, while parading the suspects, stated that, the suspects were apprehended at Oloru  by the personnel who were on night patrol.

 

The six suspects: Yunusa Bello (41), Sanni Taminu (35), Sanusi Lawal (25), Alhaji Makeri (33), Lukman Sanni (32), and Olabode Johnson  (41) were all arrested with the items.

 

Commandant Umar sent a strong warning to those who engages in vandalising National Critical Assets and Infrastructures to desist from that or prepare to face the consequences because the Command will not tolerate any act of vandalisation in the state

 

The Commandant also paraded another suspect, Babatunde Adekunle (41) who was arrested for ATM fraud.

 

Babatunde was alleged to have fraudulently swamped his ATM card with an Old man at one of the ATM points in a bank.

 

Having swamped the card, he allegedly withdrew the sum of One million, eight hundred thousands naira from the account.

 

The case was reported, and the Commandant mandated the tracking unit to arrest him within the shortest time

 

Commandant Umar appreciates the state government, the Traditional Rulers and the good people of Kwara for their support and cooperations.

 

He assured the public that the command will continue to work with other sister agencies so as to ensure the safety of lives and properties of kwarans and Nigerians as a whole.
