Eid El-Kabir: Oke Tasks Muslims on Sacrifice for Growth, Development of Nigeria

As the World celebrate Eid el-Kabir, Muslims and all Nigerians have again been enjoined to make sacrifices for the growth and development of their communities, States and their great country, Nigeria.

Leader, Kwara State House of Assembly in the Second Republic, Chief Stephen Wole-Oke who gave the charge today in his message to Muslims on the occasion of Sallah
expressed the hope that the prayers and sacrifices of the season would bring peace, unity, harmony and progress for selfless brotherhood among all the citizens in the State and Nigeria as a whole.

Chief Wole-Oke, who is Jagunmolu of Shao and, Member, Kwara State Governor’s Advisory Council used the occasion to call on Muslims in the State to use the opportunity of the Festival to pray faithfully for Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for God to endow him with wisdom, knowledge and understanding to continue to pilots the affairs of the State in the next four years of his Second Term, the constitutionally defined final lapse of his governance in the State.

“Let us also pray to God, the provider of all our needs to provide the wherewithal, the necessary resources in terms of Revenue, to enable the Governor execute all his desired and relevant developmental projects, which will be beneficial to the welfare of Kwara State citizens” he added.

The APC Chieftain called on the people “Let us continue to remember to take the peace, development, growth, sustenability and prosperity of the State as our collective cardinal passion.

“As we celebrate this year’s Festival, let us continue to pray to the Almighty Allah to spare our lives and give us good health; a sound mind in a sound body, to enable us witness and participate in the many Eid el-Kabir Festivals years ahead.
We should remember always that it is the same Omnipotent, Omniscience and Omnipresent God we all daily call upon, albeit, in our different mode of worship and service” he emphasized.

It is not by power. It is not by might. Neither is it by wisdom nor by knowledge that we are alive to witness this year’s celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir. It is the grace of the Almighty God, the Creator who has endowed us with mercy, compassion and loving-kindness. To him we give all the glory, honour and praises.

It is in this context, therefore, that I wish to share the joy of the Festival celebration with our Muslim brothers and Sisters. I wish them all Happy Sallah celebration.
