Acting CG Immigration Tenure Ends Today!
The Acting Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) ACG Adepoju Carol Wuraola is expected to retire from NIS Service today, Wednesday, May 31st.
An NIS 2023 Retirement List obtained showed that the NIS Acting CG is due to retire from NIS by today, May 31st, 2023.
She is expected to be succeeded by the most senior NIS Officer next to her in rank and seniority.
It would be recalled that there were already reports that some members of the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) have faulted the appointment of DCG Adepoju Carol Wuro-Ola as the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) 24 hours to her retirement.
The board members, were reported by newspapers on condition of anonymity to have disclosed that at no point did the board met to appoint DCG Wuro-Ola as the acting CGI of NIS
Reliable sources said that ”she’s due for retirement today, and this makes her appointment fishy, because by tomorrow, she will become an illegal occupant of this position (just like the current IGP of police).
The most senior immigration officer who is still within the lawful years of service is Dora Amahian, why has she been overlooked and in preference for another officer who until her appointment yesterday had only TWO DAYS left in ACTIVE service?.
Below is the CURRENT Order of Seniority in the Immigration Service:
Dora Amahian (DCG)
Dominus Asogwu(DCG)
Unman Auna(ACG)
Osman Babaginda(ACG)
Sadat Hassan(ACG)
Ijeoma Emenike(ACG)
Highly placed NIS sources told newsmen that since DCG Wuraola’s appointment by the Board was in acting capacity, she is expected to be succeeded automatically by the next most senior officer from tomorrow”’
