Cleric Urges President Tinubu, Gov AbdulRazaq To Pay Attention To Critical Sectors
The newly inaugurated President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State have again been advised to hit the ground running, especially in critical sectors to turn around the State and the Nation’s economy for good.
The Executive Secretary, ECWA Fate Tanke District Church Council, Ilorin, Reverend Joseph Agboluaje gave the advice on Monday in a statement tagged “My advice to the Peoples’ Governor” released in Ilorin.
Reverend Agboluaje enjoined the new government to put the right peg in the right hole for efficiency and effectiveness.
The Cleric requested quick actions in the areas of economy, security, fuel subsidy and other critical sectors to tackle inflation and various challenges confronting the Nation.
The Executive Secretary, who congratulated the newly elected leaders specifically called on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to take Workers’ welfare with more vibrant interest, since they are the engine room of the success of any government.
According to him, “infrastructural development and innovation should be prioritized in all the nooks and crannies of Kwara State.
Rev. Agboluaje also noted that Federal/State appointments should be spread across the three Senatorial Districts of the State to ensure justice, fairness and equity.
“On Religion, the Governor, (as father of all) must strike the balance between the two major religions. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, as the adage goes” he advised.
Rev. Agboluaje stressed the need to accord Traditional institutions the importance and respect since they are there to preserve the tradition and customs of the people.
The Governor, he explained, must be more focused as some people around him may inadvertently serve as distractors since Kwara State has been making progress since this God-sent Governor took over the affairs of the State.
“One can count his achievements in infrastructural development, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensioners, fairness in the appointment and a smooth relationship between the three tiers of Government. But, Mr Governor, hear this, the challenge ahead may be more than the challenge behind,” he opined.
He said from history, he understand that only a few governors performed well in their second tenures, for the reason I may not be able to fetch out, readily. Probably, since no third term is permissible. But Sir, for you to write your name with gold, changing the narrative is necessary.
Also in his reaction, the Chief Imam of Ijagbo, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Mufutau Jamiu congratulated the newly inaugurated leaders calling on them to make the welfare of the people top priority.
Alhaji Mufutau Jamiu urged them to be focused and embrace fairness as Allah demand from every leader.
The Muslim Cleric admonished Nigerians to support the present administration to succeed in the task ahead.
