Cleric Urges Christians To Always Speak Truth, Embrace Charity

Christians have been urged to always speak the truth and also embark on charity activities, even if it might be uncomfortable.

Very Reverend father Anselm Pendo Lawani, the Diocesan Administrator of Catholic Diocese of Ilorin, made the call at the fifty seventh edition of World Day of Social Communications of Catholic Diocese organized by the Directorate of Social Communications.

The Theme of this year programme: “Speaking with the Heart ‘The Truth in Love’ held in Ilorin the state capital.

Reverend father Lawani stressed that commitment to communication from the heart and with open arms is everyone’s responsibility.

He added that christians are exhorted to refrain their tongues from evil rather to speaks words that can edify, comfort and help those who listen them.

According to President Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Prince Yemi Adurotoye, Nigeria is on the threshold of embracing a new administration.

“Therefore, it is necessary for us all to pursue the cause of truth, if the country must advance.

The CAMPAN President said sensationalism, hate speech, ethnic profiling and oddity are elements of news that thrive these days, stressing the need to shun those news elements to pursue the truth at all times.
