NPC Ready To Conduct Accurate Census – Isa Kwara
The Chairman, National Population Commission (NPC), Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwara has expressed readiness of the Commission to conduct an accurate, reliable and acceptable, census exercise across the country.
The Chairman made the disclosure when he led the National Executive member of the commission on a familiarisation visit to the Deputy Governor of Kwara state ,Mr Kayode Alabi in his office in Ilorin.
According to him the aim of the visit was in continuation of the ongoing engagement and elighlitment on national census exercise.
Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwara explained that all local governments in the country have been fully demarcated, adding that the postponment of the census exercise was to ensure quality results.
He urged Nigerians to give their support to the Commission to enable it succeed.
In his address the Deputy governor of Kwara state,Mr Kayode Alabi said the population and housing Census exercise would assist the country to know the total number of its household.
He said the exercise would be of advantage to all citizenry in the country.
Mr Kayode Alabi assured the support of the state government to the commission to ensure success of the exercise.
In his remark the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-gambari Commended the leadership of the Commisssion for putting in place measures to ensure a Credible census exercise.
In his comment the Director General Michael Imoudu National Institute For Labour Studies,(MINILS) ,Comrade Issa Aremu said an accurate population and housing Census exercise will enable the policy makers plan for the future of the citizens.
Earlier in his address of welcome the National Population Commission, Federal Commissioner in Kwara state ,Alhaji Abdulrasak Gidado expressed the determination of the commission to conduct a reliable census exercise in the state and the country in general.
