Gov AbdulRazaq Pledges To Give Priority To Workers’ Welfare

The Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed commitment to workers’ welfare in the state given the inflation in the country.

The Governor made the assurance during his Investiture as the Honourable fellowship of the National Labour Institute (FNLS) at Michael Imodu national Institute for labour studies (MINILS), Ilorin Kwara State

Governor AbdulRazaq noted that workers welfare will continue to be taken seriously and paid as and when due

He stated that workers in the state would not be sacked as it cost more to sack workers, added that they are working on retirement age of teachers

He also expressed his determination to create more jobs.

He added that the good working relationship with workers in the state would be sustained

He commended the new leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress in the state for a successful election as well appreciated
Michael Imodu national Institute for labour studies (MINILS) for the honour dawn on him

He urged workers in the state to carry out their duties effectively and well organise as workers would make case for new minimum wage given the inflation in the country as the state would be prepare for new minimum wage

The Director-General/ Chief Executive Officer CEO Michael Imodu National Institute for labour studies (MINILS) Comrade Issa Aremu said the state government is labour friendly given the approval of N30,000 minimum wage for public servants in the state, as well as the promotion of workers, mass employment of workers, commitment to training and retraining of public servant in the state, freedom of association, prompt payment of salary, sanitize public service and also friend of Michael Imodu National Institute for labour studies (MINILS) added that the award bestowed on the governor is anniversary award as he is labour friendly

The newly elected state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Muritala Saheed Olayinka appreciated the governor for creating good enabling environment in the last election of the union.

He also appreciated the governor for prompt payment of salary, promotion of workers added that workers are expecting more from the government.
