Oyedepo tells members what to do before casting their votes
As Nigerians prepare to vote in the 2023 Presidential election on Saturday, the founder of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners’ Chapel, Dr. David Oyedepo, has urged worshippers to vote wisely.
Addressing the congregation in all four services held in the church on Sunday, Oyedepo, who is also the presiding bishop of the Living Faith Church, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, advised the members to be loyal to their God and not to any political party.
He, therefore, urged the members to vote for a leader with capacity and character.
“You do not need to be a billionaire to be a president, you need capacity, you need character and we have them in every part of the country.”
He said that the citizens should vote for candidates that will ensure the growth of the nation, and make the country better for Nigerian children and the generation yet unborn.
Clarifying that the church members are in all registered political parties, he said, “I want you to be more loyal to God than to any party. Don’t vote for wickedness. Don’t vote for people that you cannot trace their sources of wealth, don’t vote for people that will tell you what they will do but you cannot see what they have done in the past.
“Everybody knows what has been happening in this country in the last eight years, if you support the wicked, or have sympathy for the wicked, then you are wicked.”
He also emphasised that every part of Nigeria has competent people that can lead the nation, adding that the presidency of Nigeria is not an entitlement or property of any region.
Oyedepo said, “ You may wonder why I am so concerned, I am because I am for the peace and stability of Nigeria, Nigeria is not for sale. We are not an entity or property, we’re a people and we are not for sale.”
