Appeal Court Sacks Abacha As Kano PDP Governorship Candidate

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kano, on Friday, sacked Mohammed Abacha as the state governorship candidate of the PDP.

The court set aside the judgment of a High Court that recognised Abacha as the PDP flag bearer.

The court has ordered that Sadiq Wali, who was earlier recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to remain the valid governorship candidate.

The judgment of three-man panel delivered by Justice Usman Musale, held that Abacha had no locus standi to challenge the party primary.

Abacha never participate in the primary that produced Wali.
