Kwara Health Commissioner Says Gov AbdulRazaq’s Achievements Surpasses Predecessors In Health Sector

Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state has surpassed his predecessors in health care delivery since taking over power in 2019.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razaq, made this assertion at the 35th media parliament of the Kwara state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Ilorin on Thursday.
He said what was met on ground in 2019, when the governor came on board was deplorable but has been able to turn around health service delivery within a short period.
Dr Raji, said aside renovation and reconstruction of health facilities across the three senatorial districts of the state, about 500 medical personnels have been employed and state of the art equipment provided, while retraining of staff has been increased.
He appealed to the citizens of the state to re-elect governor Abdulrazaq to enable continue his laudable achievements in the health sector of the state, adding ” you don’t throw away a formula that is giving you results.”
The commissioner blamed the collapse of the health sector in the state on the inability of the previous administrations to pay various counterpart funds, most of which have been redeemed by the present administration with about N2billion payment of the counterpart funds.
He explained that the payment of the counterpart funds has attracted foreign interventions from international organizations which have impacted positively on the service delivery in the health sector in the state.
In his opening remark, state chairman of the council, Ahmed Abdullateef, said the media parliament aims at making public and private office holders accountable in the interest of the public and citizens of the state.
