Nobody ‘ll be Sacked — Gov. AbduRazaq Assures Civil Servants
The Kwara State governor Abdulrahman Abdurazak has debunked the rumour making the round that he would sack workers in his second term in office
Governor Abdulrahman, who debunked the rumor at interactive session with the state civil servants as part of activities making the State Civil Service Week 2022 at banquet hall Ilorin, said the welfare of the civil servant is most paramount as he implored the workers to work with the policy of the state government
“No body is going to be sacked is a political gimik we need your service, we believe in you, do your work deligentlly,” he said
AbdulRazaq, who stressed the need to make life better for every civil servants in the state, urged them to be dedicated and committed to their duties and appreciate the efforts of the government for them to do more.
He added that paternity leave would be looked upon for male civil servants in the state.
The governor, who also highlighted the achievements of the administration in all spheres noted, that the workers are the engine room of the state added that civil servants should be kept in high esteem as they prioritize the payment of salary and gratuity
“Without the civil service the government would collapse” he said
The head of service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole who commanded the state government for his laudable achievements in the state said the civil servants are civil in their ways.
Modupe, who said the workers would continue to strive to do their best, added that the best civil servants would be rewarded with a car at a football match that would also be played as the grand-finale of the civil service week.

The Kwara State Chairman Nigeria labour Congress NLC Comrade Issa Ore commended the state governor for paying the salary of workers as and when due
Some of the civil servants who spoke commended the state governor for the prompt payment of salaries, implementation of minimum wage, training and retraining of civil servants, renovation of station and procurement of vehicle, gender sensitivity, implementation of violence against person law, increase of health professionals, demanded for more to enhance their efficiency.
They also called on the government to reintroduce leave bonus for civil servants and for the interactive session to be quarterly.
