Kwara Revised Appropriation (2022) Bill, Scales Second Reading
The Revised Appropriation (2022) Bill, on Wednesday scaled the second reading at the Kwara State House of Assembly in Ilorin.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu who presided, read the opening prayers.
Hon. John O. Bello (Lanwa Ejidongari), the Dep. House Leader moved a motion for the Second Reading of the Bill and this led to the debate on the general principle of the Bill to Make Revised Appropriation for the Year Ending Thirty-First Day of December, Two Thousand and Twenty Two (Second Reading).
The Bill passed through the Second Reading after the Deputy House Leader, Hon John Bello (Lanwa/Ejidongari) led the House debate.
Hon Bello, in leading the debate acknowledged that the global economy is facing serious challenges with the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia which has pushed economic indices worldwide in which Nigeria is not left out and the insurgency has also disrupted Agriculture and Business across the nation which has culminated in the hard time the Nigerian economy is facing.
The following Honourable members also contributed to the debate on the
general principles of the Bill; Hon. Ibrahim O. Ambali (Owode/Onire), Hon. Abdullahi Halidu Danbaba (Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe), Hon. Awodiji Omotayo Felix (Irepodun), Hon. Adetiba-Olanrewaju Raphael (Oke-Ero), Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salau (Omupo), Hon Ojo Olayiwola (Oke-Ogun), Hon. Aliyu Wahab Opakunle (Afon), Hon. Abdulkareem Babatunde Paku (Ipaiye/Malete/Oloru), Hon. Ahmed Rufai Adam (Patigi), Hon. Ahmed Saidu Baba (Bani/ Adena), Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel (Ekiti) and Hon. Jimoh Ali Yusuf (Ilorin East).
Thereafter the Clerk to the House was directed to read the Bill the second time and it scaled through Second Reading.
The Bill was referred to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to present its report as soon as possible.
The motion for Adjournment was moved by the Dep. House Leader, Hon. John Bello (Lanwa/Ejidongari) and seconded by Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola (Ilorin South).
