OSUN ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS COMMISSIONERS/SPECIAL ADVISERS NOMINEES

The State of Osun House of Assembly has confirmed Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s Commissioners/Special Advisers nominees sent to the State House of Assembly on 20/7/2022.
The house of assembly confirmed the nominees after the motion moved by Hon. Festus Komolafe representing Atakumosa East/ West State Constituency and seconded by Hon. Adeniran Atidaade representing Ede South State constituency respectively.
Earlier, the state house of assembly has adopted the report of the Ad-hoc screening committee submitted by the Deputy Speaker who double as Chairman of the 7 men committee.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Parliament, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye urged the state governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola to go ahead with the swearing in of the screened Commissioner/Special Advisers designates.
The Commissioner/ Special Advisers including Mr. Henry Olanipekun, Alhaja Lateefat Giwa, Mr. Bakare Aleem, Mrs. Olubukola Olaboopo, Mr. Solagbade Oladeepo and Hon. Mrs Nike Omoworare respectively.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye appreciated his colleagues for the spirit of sportsmanship, maturity and endurance displayed during the electioneering campaign in the state.
He thanked everyone that play the the game according to the rules, while urging members to protect their integrity.
He also felicitated every Muslims in the state for this year Eld- Kabir celebration while prayed for more fruitful years.
However, under Matters of Public Importance, the Chairman House Committee on Environment and Sanitation Hon. Benjamin Ogundipe representing Ife South State constituency raised the issue of activities of illegal miners along Osogbo/Iwo road.
He noted that the illegal miners’ activities are becoming very worrisome where almost 7 meters down hole was dug.
He also observed that the act is very dangerous to the environment.
He called on the ministry of environment and sanitation to take necessary action on this matter.
The Speaker Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye noted that the issue of mining was under inclusive matter in the country.
He wants the ministry officials to appear before the house of assembly omfor proper briefing.
