BREAKING: Cocaine Deal: Court Refuses Abba Kyari, Others Bail

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja on Monday refused to grant bail to the detained Commander of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Force Intelligence Bureau, Nigerian Police Force, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), had on March 7, arraigned Kyari; and his co Defendants namely, Sunday Ubua, an assistant commissioner of police; Bawa James, an assistant superintendent of police; Simon Agirgba, an inspector; John Nuhu, also an inspector, on an eight-count charge.

Kyari and the four IRT members are being prosecuted by the Federal Government over charges bordering on illicit dealing in 21.35kg of cocaine between January 19 and 25 2022, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act.
