NSCDC Gets New Commander in Kwara as Bodinga Declares Zero Tolerance for Crime

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has announced the assumption of duty of Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga as its 15th substantive State Commandant, with a firm warning to criminals to keep off the state.

His posting to Kwara was approved by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as part of efforts to reposition state commands for improved operational performance nationwide.

Until his redeployment, Bodinga had served in several strategic capacities across the country. He previously held office as State Commandant in Kebbi, Jigawa and Kano States, where he was credited with strengthening field operations and administrative coordination.

He also served as National Arm Commander, Special Forces, at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, a role that placed him at the centre of high-level tactical operations.

Speaking shortly after taking over in Ilorin, the new Commandant sent a clear message to criminal elements, vandals and economic saboteurs, stressing that Kwara would not serve as a hiding place for lawbreakers.

“Kwara State is not and will not be a safe haven for criminals. Those who choose to engage in vandalism or sabotage of government infrastructure will face the full weight of the law.

“We are fully prepared, operationally and strategically, to deal decisively with offenders,” he declared.

He specifically warned against pipeline vandalism, illegal mining, destruction of critical national assets and other acts capable of undermining public safety and economic stability.

Bodinga assured residents that under his leadership, the Command would intensify intelligence-driven operations and remain committed to the protection of lives, property and critical national infrastructure across the state.

He also pledged stronger collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to sustain peace and security in Kwara.

The Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information to help combat crime and criminality in the state.
