Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi, a respected community leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed shock and deep sadness over the recent deadly attacks on residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In a statement signed by his media team, Dr. Alabi described the attacks as disheartening, particularly coming at a time when government at both state and federal levels is intensifying efforts to rid the country of hoodlums and bandits.
He condemned the perpetrators as wicked and enemies of peace, stressing that the senseless acts should serve as a rallying call for unity and collective support for government efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace and harmony in the state.
The philanthropist urged residents of the affected communities and Kwara State at large to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report suspicious movements to help safeguard their environments.
Dr. Alabi also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Kaiama, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mu’azu Shehu Omar (Bagidi Kiyaru IV), the families of the victims, and all those affected by the tragic incident.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kwara State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their swift response and proactive measures to protect lives and property, as well as their determination to rid the state and the country of criminal elements.
The APC chieftain further praised the efforts of the military, police, and other security operatives combating banditry and related crimes in Kwara North and South, assuring them of the people’s support.
“We are with you in your efforts to combat terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements threatening peace in our state,” he said,
The community leader added that sustained vigilance is necessary to prevent forests and border areas from being reoccupied by criminals after they have been dislodged.
It would be recalled that bandits attacked Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area on the evening of Monday, February 3, 2026, with the assault extending into Tuesday, February 4, 2026.
The attacks reportedly claimed more than 20 lives, including some security personnel, while several houses and food stores were razed.
