Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi Condoles Family of Late Grand Chief Imam of Ilorin (Photos)

In a solemn and deeply symbolic gesture of respect, renowned philanthropist and community leader, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, at the weekend paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu, the Grand Chief Imam of Ilorin, whose passing has continued to attract heartfelt tributes from across Kwara State and beyond.
Dr. Alabi described the death of the revered Islamic cleric as a profound loss not only to the Ilorin Emirate but also to the entire Muslim Ummah.
He noted that the late Chief Imam was a beacon of spiritual guidance, moral uprightness, and peaceful coexistence.
Recalling the Sheikh’s lifelong dedication to the service of Islam and humanity, Dr. Alabi stressed that his leadership was firmly anchored on wisdom, humility, and compassion.
During the visit, Dr. Alabi extended his condolences to the immediate family, the Ilorin Emirate Council, and the entire Muslim community within and outside the state.
He prayed fervently for Allah’s mercy upon the departed scholar, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him the highest place in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

He also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family in this moment of deep sorrow.
According to Dr. Alabi, the late Sheikh Bashir Solihu was not only a religious authority but also a unifying figure whose counsel was sought across social and religious divides.
He noted that the cleric’s voice of moderation and peace played a crucial role in fostering harmony and stability within Ilorin and its environs.
He further described the late Grand Chief Imam as a pillar of Islamic scholarship whose teachings would continue to shape generations, adding that his legacy of discipline, tolerance, and service to humanity would remain indelible in the hearts of those who encountered him.
Members of the bereaved family who spoke expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Alabi for the condolence visit, describing his presence as a mark of honour and solidarity at a time of grief.
They appreciated his prayers and words of encouragement, noting that such gestures reflected the unity and mutual respect that the late Sheikh consistently preached.
Dr. Alabi’s visit formed part of a series of tributes being paid to the late religious leader by prominent individuals and groups, underscoring the deep impact of Sheikh Bashir Solihu on religious life and community development across Kwara State.
