Alabi Consoles Fourth-Estate Professional Society President, Dr. Salami, Over Mother’s Death

Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi has joined leaders across governance and media circles in mourning the passing of Mama Dorcas Salami (JP), the mother of the President of the Fourth-Estate Professional Society (FPS) and former two-term Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Dr. Babatunde Salami.

In a statement made available to journalists through his media team, Dr. Alabi described the loss as a moment of deep grief not only for the Salami family but also for the professional and public service community that Dr. Babatunde Salami has continued to serve with distinction.

He noted that Mama Dorcas Salami was a respected matriarch whose life was anchored on faith, discipline, and selfless devotion to family, virtues that have shaped the leadership style and public conduct of her son.

According to Dr. Alabi, Dr. Salami’s contributions to local governance and his current leadership of the Fourth-Estate Professional Society have continued to strengthen professionalism, accountability, and ethical standards within the media and public service space.

He emphasised that moments like this call for unity, compassion, and collective support for leaders who have dedicated their lives to service.

Dr. Alabi prayed that Almighty God grants Dr. Babatunde Salami, his family, and associates the strength to bear the loss, while granting Mama Dorcas Salami eternal rest
He urged colleagues, friends, and well-wishers within the media and governance sectors to continue to stand with the Salami family during this period of mourning.
