15th Convocation: Al-Hikmah University Holds Special Juma’at Prayer

The representative of the Cheif Imam of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, Dr Najeeb Abass has called on Muslims to cultivate the habit of constantly appreciating Allah for His numerous blessings, stressing that gratitude remains one of the strongest acts of worship in Islam.
Abass, who is a lecturer from the Department of Languages, Arabic unit of the institution made this call during a special Juma’at prayer organised by the management of Al-Hikmah University to formally usher in the institution’s 15th convocation ceremony.
The prayer session, which attracted members of the university community and the Muslim faithful, was held as part of activities lined up for the week-long convocation programme.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam explained that the special Juma’at prayer was designed by the university authorities as a means of thanking Allah for His unfailing support, mercy, and divine guidance since the last convocation ceremony.
He noted that acknowledging Allah’s blessings is essential for continued progress and success.
According to him, Al-Hikmah University has experienced remarkable growth in several areas between the last convocation and the present one.
He listed these to include a steady increase in student population, expansion of physical infrastructure, introduction of new academic programmes, improvement in teaching and learning processes, enhanced research and knowledge development, as well as an increase in the strength of academic and non-academic staff.
The cleric reminded the congregation that Allah is the Creator of all mankind and the ultimate controller of the affairs of the universe, adding that the destinies and lives of all creatures are determined by Him alone.
He, therefore, urged Muslims to remain humble, faithful, and obedient, regardless of their achievements.
He further stated that the special Juma’at prayer was not only to express gratitude to Allah but also to seek His continued guidance, protection, and blessings as the university plans to attain greater heights in the years ahead.
Abass prayed for wisdom, peace, and unity within the institution to enable it achieve its academic and moral objectives.
The Chief Imam also led special supplications for Allah’s protection and abundant blessings upon the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Chief (Dr.) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, and his family.
Prayers were equally offered for the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lateef Oladimeji, his family, members of the university management, academic and non-academic staff, as well as their families.
He concluded by offering prayers for the students, asking Allah to grant them sound knowledge, good character, and success in their academic pursuits, while also committing the entire convocation programme into Allah’s hands for a peaceful and successful outing.
The prayer was attended by the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Chief ( Dr) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji; VC, Prof Lateef Oladimeji; registrar, Quseem Oladimeji; Kwara State Amirah FOMWAN, Hajia Biliqis Modupe Oladimeji and members; other management and staff of the school among other faithful Muslims.
