Turaki regains control of PDP secretariat as police teargas Bauchi, Oyo Govs

Supporters of the newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tanimu Turaki have finally regained control of the party’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat, Abuja, after face-off with expelled members.
Turaki’s supporters had clashed with the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday over the control of the PDP national secretariat.
The two sides had clashed in the attempt to hold important meetings in the same building, causing pandemonium in the area.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed claimed that himself and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde were teargased during the incident.
Following the restoration of normalcy, the recently elected PDP National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki assumed office at the party’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat.
Turaki was in company with the two state governors, Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde, to resume duty at Wadata Plaza in Abuja.
