Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has been honoured with the Integrity Governor of the Year Award by the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ) in recognition of his transparent leadership, infrastructural strides, and inclusive governance.

The award was presented to the Governor on Tuesday in Ilorin by the President of NACJ, Dr. Charles Okhai, who said AbdulRazaq’s administration stood out in areas such as education, healthcare, road development, youth empowerment, and workers’ welfare.

“Governor AbdulRazaq emerged the top choice after a thorough evaluation of five states. His commitment to the welfare of civil servants, transparent teacher recruitment, and infrastructural development clearly set him apart,” Dr. Okhai stated.

He noted that the Association, made up of Christian media professionals, based its assessment strictly on performance, not religion.

“When we nominated you, we didn’t look at religion but at your sterling achievements and integrity,” he added.

In his response, Governor AbdulRazaq dedicated the award to the people of Kwara State, describing it as a reflection of their trust and support.

“We take this award as an acknowledgement of our modest efforts to improve the lives of our people and deliver political goods to the largest majority,” he said.

“Our state has been consistent in maintaining transparency and due process, earning commendations from national and international peer-review programmes, including those by the World Bank.”

The Governor noted that his administration had recorded remarkable progress across all sectors in the past six years.

“No government since 1999 has delivered as many projects in road connectivity, education, health, sports, or technology as ours,” he noted.

AbdulRazaq also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support to Kwara State, assuring that his administration remains committed to sustaining the pace of development.
