The Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, has urged 200 newly promoted officers to enhance revenue generation and strengthen compliance.
Oshoba gave the charge during the decoration ceremony of the promoted officers on Thursday in Lagos.
Addressing the officers, Oshoba described the promotions as a reward for excellence, innovation, and dedication to service.
He stressed that the NCS expects greater commitment from the officers in revenue generation and trade facilitation.
“Your promotion is a call to improve performance and justify management’s confidence in you,” Oshoba said.
He urged them to contribute to revenue generation, strengthen asset management, and ensure compliance with trade rules for economic growth and national security.
Oshoba appreciated Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and his management team for ensuring merit-based promotions.
He encouraged officers not promoted to remain diligent and assured that their efforts would be rewarded in future exercises.
The Apapa customs boss charged all personnel to uphold integrity, professionalism, and diligence in duty, stressing that the ultimate goal was national development.
Speaking for the newly promoted officers, Chief Superintendent Bello Abdullahi expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu.
Abdullahi also thanked the Customs management and Comptroller-General Adeniyi for finding them worthy of elevation.
He noted the promotion was not a personal achievement but proof of hard work, dedication, and teamwork within the Apapa command.
He appreciated the mentorship of senior officers, family support, and sacrifices that made their service possible.
