The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has commended the Head of the Federal Civil Service, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, for impactful leadership and reform-driven service in Nigeria’s public sector.
The CYMS delegation, led by its Director-General, Chief Obinna Nwaka made the commendation in Abuja during a courtesy visit to Walson-Jack, to congratulate her on her first anniversary in the office.
The delegation comprised Hajia Baiyee Aisha, Director of Finance; Hon. Kelechi Ugwumba, Director of Contacts and Mobilisation; Dr Umma Adamu, Director of Gender and Humanitarian Affairs; Ms Amarah Joseph; and Engr Kenneth Omeiza.
Nwaka described her one year in office as a period of reform-driven service in the nation’s public sector.
He lauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Walson-Jack to what he called a “strategic and well-deserved position”, adding that her leadership had strengthened civil service reforms and inspired the youth.
He described her as “a mother, a motivational tool to the girl child, and a lover of the youth”, noting that her character and open-door policy as a civil servant were worthy of emulation.
“The CYMS, recognised by the Presidency, is an evaluation body that assists in sensitisation, mobilisation, and promotion of Federal Government policies and programmes.
“Its other mandates include fostering good governance, facilitating empowerment, and promoting peaceful coexistence among the youth.
“We congratulate you today as you mark a significant milestone in your stewardship. We wish you better years ahead,” he said.
During the visit, the delegation also joined in activities marking Walson-Jack’s first anniversary, themed “A Year of Purposeful Service.”
The celebration featured a symbolic “Thank You Tour” of ministries and departments at the Federal Secretariat, as well as a free medical outreach within the premises.
In her remarks, Walson-Jack recounted progress achieved since her appointment, highlighting the advancement of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP 25).
This, she said, aligned with the government’s EPIC vision, which are Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen-Centred service.
She expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her, and to Permanent Secretaries, civil service stakeholders, her family, and well-wishers for their support.
“As we enter a new chapter, I urge everyone to remain steadfast. Let us work not for titles, but for enduring legacies; not for self, but for service.”
“I will continue to lead with fairness, humility and dedication to a service that future generations will inherit with pride,” she said.
