Tinubu’s Star Associate, a respected community leader and entrepreneur, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, has paid glowing tributes to two of Kwara State’s most respected figures, the Oludopo of Oke-Iya Ipo, Oba Saheed Giwa Opadoye, Oyelekan III, and the Olota of Oro, Alhaji Chief Yusuf Amuda Bamidele, describing their passing as a monumental loss to the state’s cultural, political, and religious heritage.
In a statement signed by his Head of Media, Christie Doyin, Dr. Alabi lauded both leaders as selfless visionaries whose reigns and life’s work were anchored on unity, service, and the upliftment of their people.
On the passing of the Oludopo, Dr. Alabi said the monarch’s reign brought peace, cohesion, and tangible development to Oke-Iya Ipo.
He noted that Kabiyesi’s commitment to preserving the town’s cultural heritage while pursuing progress earned him admiration far beyond his traditional domain.
Regarding the late Olota of Oro, Dr. Alabi extolled his exceptional record as a veteran politician, educationist, and devout Muslim.
He recalled Alhaji Olota’s political journey, including his candidacy for Oro Ward 2 Councillor in the 1990s under the Alliance for Democracy (AD), and his consistent support for educational causes such as Oro Muslim High School.
Dr. Alabi also highlighted the late Olota’s religious leadership, particularly his service as Otun Baba Adinni of Oro and as a former member of the Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He described him as a custodian of the “Oro Spirit”, a legacy of resilience, moral discipline, and unwavering dedication to community development.
Praying for Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Aljanatul Firdaus, Dr. Alabi urged the people of Oke-Iya Ipo and Oro to uphold the ideals of unity, service, and faith that both leaders championed.
“The passing of Kabiyesi Oyelekan III and Baba Olota closes two remarkable chapters in Kwara’s history, but their legacies will continue to guide and inspire generations to come.” Alabi concluded.
