RTEAN urges motorists to park, relax during heavy pour

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Kwara branch, has advised motorists to park and relax during heavy pour.
RTEAN state Chairman, Comrade Abdulrahman Onikijipa, gave the advice in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Onikijipa, who is also the Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kwara Chapter, advised motorists to be cautious during rainy season and prioritize safety first before business or any daily activities.
According to him, the rainy season is always tempting for motorists because of the wet road and cool weather.
” When the pour is heavy, always park and relax till the situation improves. Stop taking risk, prioritise your safety first.
” Stop believing too much on your windscreen wipers when the rain is heavy. It is advisable to park and relax before proceeding on your journey.
” We are in the rainy season, avoid speeding and beware of wind while on the wheel,” he said.
He, however, advised the public to be sensitive to the weather as the rainy season is more dangerous for motorists than it has been underated.
