Police Wives Pledge Support for Officers, Visit Kwara CP to Strengthen Family Ties
The wife of the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Catherine Ojo-Adekimi, on Wednesday led members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Kwara State Chapter, on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, in Ilorin.
The visit, which took place at the State Police Headquarters, was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between POWA and the Police Command, and to appreciate the support the association has enjoyed over the years.
Addressing the Command, Mrs. Ojo-Adekimi commended her husband’s leadership and the entire police hierarchy in the state for creating a peaceful and disciplined working environment. She said POWA remains committed to supporting officers through their families.
“We are here to say thank you for the continuous support and cooperation the association has received from the Kwara Police Command. POWA will always stand by its officers by standing with their families,” she said.
She also presented symbolic gifts to the Commissioner and his team on behalf of the association, describing the gesture as a sign of appreciation and goodwill.
Responding, CP Adekimi Ojo described the visit as heartwarming and reaffirmed his belief in the strength of family support in boosting the morale of serving officers.
“Our officers draw strength from home, and the role played by spouses, particularly our wives, is invaluable,” he said. “I thank my wife and all members of POWA for their unwavering encouragement, prayers and sacrifices.”
The Police Commissioner pledged continued support for POWA and its programmes aimed at improving the well-being of police families.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with renewed commitment from both parties to promote unity, emotional support, and welfare within the policing community.
