The IDF has confirmed the elimination of IRGC Air Force Commander Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh in a precision Israeli airstrike overnight in Iran.

According to the military, Hajizadeh and several top IRGC Air Force officials were meeting in an underground command center to plan an attack on Israel when the facility was struck by Israeli fighter jets.

Among those killed were the heads of the IRGC’s drone and air defense divisions.

These senior commanders had previously orchestrated Iran’s ballistic missile and drone assaults on Israel in April and October of last year, and were behind the 2019 drone strike on Saudi oil facilities.

The IDF notes that Hajizadeh was a key architect of Iran’s military aggression and had repeatedly declared his commitment to Israel’s destruction.

Defense Minister Israel Katz was briefed on the latest assessment: Most of the top leadership of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Air Force was eliminated while gathered at an underground command center.

Israel said it demonstrated extraordinary precision in both intelligence and execution, carrying out a targeted strike that eliminated the head of the IRGC inside his own apartment—nearly 2,000 kilometers from Israeli territory.

According to the military source, all Israeli Air Force pilots and aircrew members involved in this morning’s strikes in Iran have safely returned to their bases without injury.
