Kwara Health Workers Hail Governor AbdulRazaq Over Salary, Allowance Approvals

Medical and health workers in Kwara State have lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving key welfare demands aimed at improving healthcare delivery and boosting workers’ morale.

The commendation came from Comrade Bolatito Oladele Isaac, Chairman of the Kwara State Council of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria and head of the Coalition of Health Workers Union in the state, following a successful meeting with government officials.

According to him, the state government has approved the full implementation of the 2024 CONHESS salary chart for all health workers, alongside the introduction of rural and teaching allowances for qualified officers.

“This is a big win for every health worker in Kwara State and at the local government level. We sincerely appreciate the governor for his commitment to the welfare of our members,” Comrade Isaac stated.

He urged other state governments to take a cue from Kwara’s proactive stance in addressing the welfare of health workers.

While noting that negotiations are ongoing for other outstanding demands, he acknowledged the vital support of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), union leaders, and other stakeholders in achieving the progress.

Comrade Isaac also charged health workers across the state to reciprocate the government’s gesture through greater dedication and professionalism in their duties.
