BREAKING: Gaza Bombarded Amid Israeli Special Forces Raid Targeting Hamas Leader and Possible Hostage Rescue

In a dramatic military maneuver early this morning, Israeli Special Forces reportedly carried out a high-intensity operation in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza, reportedly aimed at rescuing hostages and capturing a senior Hamas terror leader.

According to Saudi-owned Al Arabiya, the raid was intended to free several hostages still held in Gaza and seize a top Hamas operative.

While there have been no casualties reported among Israeli forces, it remains unclear whether the mission succeeded in retrieving any hostages.

Arab social media accounts describe an elite Israeli commando unit arriving in two white pickup trucks, with search and rescue dogs, crossing Route 5, and storming the Al-Katiba compound with the support of intense aerial cover from Apache helicopters and fighter jets.

The operation was reportedly followed by the unit’s withdrawal toward the Kisufim crossing.

Eyewitnesses in Gaza report that the skies over eastern Khan Yunis were filled with waves of Israeli airstrikes, including so-called “fire belt” strikes, which are used to suppress enemy fire during ground operations.

Local sources claim at least 30 separate strikes occurred within the hour, resulting in 17 reported Palestinian casualties.

While some Arab accounts insist the objective was not a hostage rescue but rather the arrest and extraction of a high-ranking Hamas figure, no official confirmation has been provided by the IDF.

This is a developing story.
