IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir meets former hostages

 

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir held a meeting today with former hostages Liri Albag, Romi Gonen, Omer Shem Tov, and Sasha Troufanov.

According to the military, Zamir conveyed deep gratitude for their openness during the conversation and reiterated the IDF’s unwavering dedication to securing the return of all remaining hostages.

“I wanted to hear firsthand how you felt during your captivity, especially while our forces were operating nearby,” Zamir told them.

“You went through harrowing experiences, yet you display remarkable strength and resilience that deserve recognition.”

He emphasized that the mission to bring the hostages home remains central to the IDF’s ongoing operations. “Their return and safety are constantly in our thoughts.

We will persist through all means necessary to achieve the objectives of the war — returning every hostage and defeating the Hamas terrorist organization,” he said.

Zamir continues to hold weekly meetings with families of current and former hostages as part of ongoing engagement efforts.
