Police Rescue Two Kidnappers Victims in Isanlu-Isin, Kwara
The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed that two victims have been rescued after a kidnap incident involving five armed men who attacked motorists in Eleyin village, near Isanlu-Isin, Isin Local Government Area.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the kidnappers had, around 5:45pm on Friday, 25th April 2025, blocked a highway, intercepted two private vehicles, and forcefully took all the occupants into the bush.
“Immediately the case was reported, the Kwara State Command, in collaboration with the Military and local Vigilantes, launched a swift rescue operation,” SP Ejire-Adeyemi stated.
She disclosed that two victims, Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi, were successfully rescued during the operation, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining five victims and track down the abductors.
In response to the incident, the police said they have intensified security across Isanlu-Isin and its surrounding areas, deploying patrol teams, conducting aggressive bush combing, and strengthening intelligence operations.
“The Command is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
“We urge members of the public to remain calm, vigilant, and assist security agencies with credible information,” the statement added.
Residents have been assured that updates will be provided as the rescue mission and investigations continue.
