Magen David Adom (MDA) has issued an urgent update regarding the ongoing fires in the Shfela region and the Jerusalem area, emphasizing the significant threat these fires pose to public safety.
Deputy Director of the Ayalon Region in MDA, Paramedic Rami Meusher, stated:
“Since the morning hours, we have been preparing and conducting situational assessments in coordination with firefighting and police forces. MDA ambulance teams are strategically stationed near communities close to the fires, ready to provide immediate medical treatment and assist residents.
Our intensive care buses are on standby to facilitate evacuations if necessary. Additionally, the MDA motorcycle unit has been reinforced to offer medical assistance to individuals trapped in major traffic jams.

The fires present a serious danger to residents and travelers in the affected areas. MDA urges the public to remain vigilant, adhere to safety instructions from authorities, and seek immediate medical assistance if needed.
General Mobilization in Fire Services: Massive Wildfires in Beit Shemesh and the Shfela Region – IDF Joins Effort Amid Fears for Communities’ Safety
Fire and Rescue Services have declared a general mobilization across six districts due to raging wildfires in the Eshtaol Forest area, Beit Shemesh, and the Shfela region.
Over 110 firefighting teams, 8 firefighting planes, and a helicopter are operating in the area. Evacuations are underway in Eshtaol, Mesilat Zion, and Beit Meir, while forces work to protect the communities of Petahya, Pedia, and Yatzitz.
The IDF has joined the response effort, with Home Front Command units deployed for assistance, though the Air Force has not yet been involved.
Fire authorities warn: “There is a serious threat to populated areas.”
