NSCDC Deploys 2,800 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security in Kwara
As Muslim faithful in Kwara State prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,800 officers across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure festivity.
The Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed, stated that operatives have been strategically stationed across all 16 local government areas, with a particular focus on high-risk zones prone to criminal activities.
“Our officers have been deployed to black spots, flashpoints, and vulnerable areas to deter crime and maintain law and order,” he said.
According to him, specialized tactical teams and intelligence operatives have been activated for surveillance and rapid response, while Area Commanders and Divisional Officers will intensify patrols throughout the celebration period.
Dr. Mohammed also extended his goodwill to Muslim faithful and urged residents to remain vigilant by reporting suspicious activities. He warned that miscreants attempting to disrupt public peace would face firm consequences.
“The NSCDC is fully prepared to enforce the law and ensure a hitch-free celebration,” he assured.
