Kwara Govt Reaffirms Support for Students, Commends NAKSS Leadership
The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to improving students’ welfare and academic development, assuring continued support to ease their educational journey.
The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, made this known in Ilorin during the inauguration of the newly elected executives of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Secretariat.
She emphasized that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration remains dedicated to policies and initiatives that enhance students’ learning conditions. According to her, education remains a pillar of the government’s agenda, with various measures in place to ensure students thrive academically.
“The Governor has continued to prioritize students’ welfare through timely bursary and scholarship disbursements. This administration understands the financial struggles of students and is committed to easing them,” she stated.
She also highlighted the establishment of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund, with an initial grant of N100 million, as a long-term strategy for sustainable educational development in the state.
Commending the peaceful conduct of the NAKSS elections, Hajia Modibbo Kawu described the students’ maturity and sense of responsibility as a positive sign of their preparedness for leadership.
She urged the newly elected executives to work together and adopt leadership strategies that promote the collective interests of all students.
“The government will continue to listen to your concerns and work towards creating an academic environment that fosters excellence,” she assured.
