FRSC to Conduct Free Vehicle Safety Checks in Kwara, Assures No Penalties

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State has announced a free vehicle safety inspection exercise to enhance road safety and prevent accidents. The initiative, scheduled for March 17 to 20, 2025, will allow vehicle owners to have their cars assessed without any penalties.

According to a statement signed by SRC O.B. Basambo on behalf of the Sector Commander, FRSC officials will be stationed at strategic locations, including highways, motor parks, and government ministries, to conduct comprehensive checks on all types of vehicles.

The objective is to identify and advise owners on necessary corrections to ensure roadworthiness.

The Kwara State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Muftau A. Irekeola, emphasized that the exercise is purely preventive. “We are committed to reducing road crashes through proactive measures.

This initiative is not about enforcement but about safety. We urge motorists to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their vehicles are in good condition,” he stated.

He reassured the public that the safety check is entirely free, encouraging cooperation from all road users.

“This is for the benefit of everyone. A well-maintained vehicle contributes to safer roads for all,” Irekeola added.

The FRSC urged motorists to participate in the exercise, stressing that adherence to road safety regulations is key to reducing accidents and saving lives.
