NOA Zonal Director Strengthens Ties in Benue, Calls for Collaboration on Value Reorientation
The North Central Zonal Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Princess Dr. Priscilla Gondo-Aluor, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to grassroots engagement and national value reorientation during her working visit to Benue State.
Speaking during her one-day tour of the NOA State Directorate in Makurdi, Dr. Gondo-Aluor emphasized the agency’s new direction under Director General Mallam Lanre Issah-Onilu, stressing the importance of partnerships with state and local governments, as well as traditional rulers.
“The rebirth of NOA is about making it a people-driven institution that fosters national harmony and progress,” she stated. “We must leverage both traditional and social media while strengthening grassroots mobilization.”
Welcoming the Zonal Director, the Acting State Director of NOA Benue, Mr. Mark Dewua, commended her appointment as a “right peg in the right hole” and assured her of the state’s commitment to supporting the agency’s transformation agenda.
Dr. Gondo-Aluor urged staff to take ownership of NOA’s programs and actively promote government policies within their communities.
She stressed that the agency’s mandate requires dedication beyond official duty, saying, “Every NOA staff is a custodian of national values. We must embody and advocate for the change we seek in Nigeria.”
During her visit, she also toured NOA Area Offices in Makurdi, Tarka, and Gboko, encouraging officers to maintain professionalism, while appealing to local government chairmen to integrate NOA into their initiatives.
A key highlight of her visit was a courtesy call on the Tor Tiv, HRM Orchivirigh Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, where she solicited the support of traditional rulers in promoting NOA’s value reorientation campaigns.
In response, the Tor Tiv commended NOA’s renewed vigor under its current leadership. “The work of traditional rulers is increasingly challenging due to the erosion of societal values. NOA’s focus on reorientation is timely, and we will support this noble cause,” he assured.
As a mark of honor, the Zonal Director was adorned in Tiv traditional attire, symbolizing the people’s recognition of her leadership and commitment to national development.
