NOA Urges Stronger Grassroots Engagement for National Reorientation in Niger
The North Central Zonal Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Princess Dr. Priscilla Gondoaluor, has called for a renewed commitment to national reorientation, emphasizing the role of civic responsibility, patriotism, and technological advancement in shaping Nigeria’s future.
During her official visit to the NOA Niger State Directorate on Thursday, Dr. Gondoaluor charged staff to deepen their efforts in promoting national values and government policies, stressing that real transformation begins with individual commitment.
“We must build Nigerians to build Nigeria,” she said. “Our mandate is not just about awareness but about fostering a mindset shift that prioritizes national interest above personal gain.”
She urged NOA officers to fully integrate the agency’s “7 for 7” initiative into their outreach, highlighting the seven responsibilities of government (The Nigerian Promise), the seven obligations of citizens (The Citizen Codes), and seven key policies needed for institutional reforms.
Beyond reorientation, she emphasized the need for staff to embrace digital skills to enhance their efficiency. “The world is changing rapidly, and as an agency, we must adapt. Mastering ICT will not only improve our communication but also position us to better engage with Nigerians in a modernized way,” she noted.
Welcoming the Zonal Director, NOA Niger State Director, Mallam Yahaya Ibrahim Gbongbo, described her visit as a morale booster. “Your presence reassures us of NOA’s commitment to Niger State and renews our motivation to drive the agency’s mandate more effectively,” he stated.
As part of her tour, Dr. Gondoaluor visited the Chairmen of Chanchaga and Bosso Local Government Areas (LGAs), where she stressed the importance of local government collaboration in national reorientation efforts.
“The local government is the closest to the people, and your partnership with NOA is vital in ensuring that government policies are understood, embraced, and implemented at the grassroots,” she said.
The LGA chairmen welcomed her call, pledging their commitment to strengthening civic engagement and supporting NOA’s initiatives within their communities.
Dr. Gondoaluor’s visit reinforced the agency’s dedication to fostering national unity through value reorientation, grassroots collaboration, and modernized engagement strategies.
