Kwara Assembly Confirms Two New Commissioners for State Executive Council

The Kwara State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of Mariam Nna Fatimah Imam (Edu) and Dr. Lawal Olalekan Olorungbebe (Ilorin West) as commissioners in the State Executive Council.
Their confirmation followed a screening exercise during Wednesday’s plenary session, presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu. The nominees, whose names were submitted by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, answered lawmakers’ questions on governance, policy implementation, and their readiness to serve the people of Kwara State.
Speaking after their confirmation, Speaker Danladi Salihu emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that only competent individuals are entrusted with leadership positions.
“Our responsibility is to scrutinize and ensure that those appointed to serve the state are qualified and ready to contribute meaningfully to governance,” he stated.
With the confirmation concluded, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to formally communicate the decision to Governor AbdulRazaq.
The session ended with a motion for adjournment moved by House Leader Hon. Magaji Oba Abdulkadir (Ilorin Central) and seconded by Hon. Bamigboye Joseph Olajire (Oke-Ero).
