Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has converted three of the five dropped commissioners to special advisers.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the state governor on Media and Publicity on Tuesday.

It could be recalled that Gidado, earlier on Tuesday, announced that the governor dropped five of the commissioners while nominating eight new people as commissioners to strengthen his administration’s service delivery.

Affected commissioners included; Dr. Jamila Dahiru, Education, Abubakar Bununu, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Usman Danturaki, Information and Communication.

Others were; Prof. Simon Yalams, Agriculture and Alh.Yakubu Hamza, Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.

However, in a fresh twist, the governor has appointed Bununu as Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration, Danturaki as Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme and Yalams as Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.

Gidado said that the governor urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields to contribute significantly towards the attainment of his vision for Bauchi State.

He added that Mohammed also enjoined them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
