Unilorin Scholar, Prof. Hamdallat Yusuf Ueges Reforms In Social Sciences Education

 

 

Professor Hamdallat Taiwo Yusuf from the Department of Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, has called for comprehensive reforms in Nigeria’s social sciences education.

She made the call during the university’s 271st inaugural lecture, titled “Navigating the Nexus of Teacher Education, Curriculum Development, and Social Studies”, held at the Unilorin campus.

Prof. Yusuf highlighted critical gaps in the current educational system and proposed actionable steps to enhance the quality and relevance of education in the country.

The distinguished scholar with an impressive academic background comprising a B.Ed. from Ile Ife and M.Ed. and Ph.D. from Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf is a leading voice in the field of education.

Her lecture focused on leveraging innovation and inclusivity to address systemic challenges and improve educational outcomes.

Prof. Yusuf also underscored the need to review and redesign the social sciences curriculum to align with contemporary societal demands and global best practices.
