Aiyedatiwa Wins Ondo Governorship Election
….as PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi came Distant second
The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been declared winner of the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State.
Governor Aiyedatiwa polled 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival from the People Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Agboola Ajayi who polled 117,845 votes to come distance second.
Declaring the results, INEC State Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi said Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa scored the highest numbers of lawful and he’s declared winner of the election in line with electoral acts provisions.
Governor Aiyedatiwa won in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
Reacting to the results, APC State Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin said the winning was a victory for democracy and the overall interest of the people of Ondo State.
On his part, the State Agent of PDP, described the whole process as rape on democracy and detrimental to future elections claiming that the election was marred by financial inducement.
