FCT: Foundation lauds Wike over continuous infrastructure development, security initiatives
An NGO, Foundation for Youth Empowerment and Social Justice has praised Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his outstanding achievements in infrastructure development within the FCT, despite the country’s economic challenges.
The Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr Yusuf Suberu gave the commendation in a statement he issued on Friday in Abuja.
Suberu lauded the FCT minister for his unwavering commitment to transforming the FCT through infrastructure development, bringing newfound optimism to residents.
He said that Wike’s dedication aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on construction, reconstruction, and infrastructure development .
He also said that Wike had demonstrated his resolve to foster a more prosperous and connected FCT, deserving of continued support and collaboration from stakeholders.
“This commendation comes as Wike continues to prioritise initiatives aimed at revitalising rural areas within the FCT, ensuring equitable distribution of resources and opportunities,”he said.
Suberu also thanked Wike for his exceptional leadership in delivering vital infrastructure and social amenities to the FCT including clean water, solar-powered electricity, and upgraded street lighting.
According to him, this remarkable progress surpasses previous administrations’ achievements, transforming the lives of FCT residents.
“Under Wike’s administration, the FCT has witnessed an unprecedented surge in infrastructure development, transforming every sector of the territory.
“The pace of progress has been remarkable, with widespread construction and rehabilitation activities revitalising the region. His host for key projects especially in the area of road rehabilitation and reconstruction within the territory has given the city a new look.
“We want to thank the Minister for being an active and right thinking politician, who puts the interest of his people above his personal interest. It is quite commendable that Wike has managed to come up with some tangible initiatives for the betterment of FCT residents.
“This is in spite of the fact that we are having a serious economic crisis in our hands, which we are trying to manage.I am not saying that he is an angel, but when it also comes to resisting wickedness, resisting deceit, resisting injustice, Wike is the Man and we appreciate him.
“It’s inevitable that significant progress attracts opposition, but we urge him to stay focused on the transformation of the FCT. We hope other ministers will emulate this approach,” he emphasised,”he said.
Suberu, who further applauded Wike, dubbing him “Mr. Project” for his unwavering dedication to transformative initiatives added that his relentless drive had earned him the reputation, solidifying his position as a champion of development in the FCT.
He said that Wike had been spearheading various projects aimed at enhancing the region’s infrastructure and quality of life as Minister of the FCT
“His commitment to progress has been evident in his previous roles, including his tenure as Governor of Rivers State, where he oversaw numerous development projects.
“Wike’s tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed, and his reputation as “Mr. Project” is a testament to his unwavering commitment to transforming the FCT and beyond.,”he said.
Suberu cautioned that detractors should not be allowed to undermine Wike’s progress, emphasising the need for continued support to ensure the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope agenda.
The NGO boss highlighted that securing the territory remains a priority for Wike, who planned to introduce advanced security measures including drone surveillance in partnership with Hungary to cover Abuja’s expansive area.
Suberu reaffirmed confidence in Wike’s leadership, attributing the rapid developmental strides in Abuja to his rigorous work ethic and extensive experience in public service.
He urged sustained support for Wike’s vision, emphasising its potential to catalyze comprehensive growth and progress in the region.
