Dr Jemila Dahiru, the Bauchi state Commissioner for Education, stated this during an interaction session with the members of the committee on Tuesday.
According to her, this is one of the efforts of the state government in addressing the problems associated with the proliferation of unregistered private schools and the non-compliance with the state guidelines for the establishment of such schools.
She said that a town hall meeting was convened with proprietors of such schools, their association and other stakeholders where decisions were arrived at, among which was the establishment of the taskforce on private schools.
Dahiru highlighted the terms of reference of the Committee to include; identification of unregistered schools in the state, inspection visit to the affected schools and instant judgment through a mobile court.
Others, she said, included “to devise a means of tracking compliance.
“Any other action towards enhancing compliance to private schools guidelines in the state and Co-opt any person that may assist the Committee in discharging its assignment”.
