PDP’s Ighodalo seeks level-playing field, decries alleged supporters’ arrest

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Asue Ighodalo has called on security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a level-playing field and halt the alleged indiscriminate arrest of his supporters for the results of the crucial poll to be acceptable.

Ighodalo, who was accompanied by his wife, Ifeyinwa, and younger brother, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, spoke with reporters, amid downpour, at his Unit 3, Ward One, Idinrio Vocational Centre, Okaegben-Ewohimi in Esan Southeast Local Government Area.

He complained of the late arrival of ad-hoc staff of INEC and electoral materials, which led to delay in the commencement of the simultaneous accreditation and voting from 11:02 a.m. today.

The standard bearer of PDP in Edo, who is still waiting to vote, called on INEC to extend accreditation and voting by three hours across the State based on reports he got from his coordinators.
