PDP working to settle Wike, Fubara’s fallout – Mohammed
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is working to resolve the rift between the FCT Minister, Nysome Wike and Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
Mohammed stated this in Bauchi on Tuesday while briefing the press on the outcome of the meeting held with some members of the National Working Committee of the PDP.
“From the point of view of leadership, we must foster collaboration, consensus and definitely it is not beyond our reach.
“You all know the relationship between the FCT Minister and the current governor of Rivers State is that of a mentor and a mentee.
“Of course, we are working behind the scene to ensure that they come together and work together in a manner that PDP is known for.
“But certainly, it is not something that we can dictate here at this table but we have summoned the courage and the will to ensure that the correct thing is done,” he said.
Speaking on the meeting, the governor said they agreed on the need to respect the rule of law and the principles that established the party to foster unity and deepen democracy at all levels.
Mohammed who is also the Chairman of PDP Governors Forum said there should be a strong working collaboration between the National Working Committee and the Forum.
This, he said, would further ensure a formidable structure during the forthcoming PDP National Congress.
